Hello,
I’m trying to create my first piece to be milled on a ShopBot CNC router from 4.7mm plywood. This piece just has a profile, which I’m hoping to cut with a 1/4in 2-flute cutter I created.
I’m able to generate the path, but when I run the CNC simulation, all I see is the icon for the cutter move around the profile cut. In other videos I’ve watched, it looks like the cutter is actually cutting the CutMaterial; the inner layer is yellow compared to the CutMaterial surface, which is brown.
I thought that this might be caused by the feeds and speeds of the cutter, which seem to be set to zero. I installed the Feeds and Speeds Addon, which seems to correctly identify my 1/4in cutter, and computes speeds of about 6000mm/min horizontal and 3000mm/min vertical, but clicking Save or Close doesn’t transfer these numbers to the Tool Controller for the 1/4in router bit. I have to write the numbers down and manually enter them in the Tool Controller. However, this still doesn’t change the appearance of the Simulator.
Is this the way the Feeds and Speeds Addon is supposed to work? Do I have to have something selected before I choose Path->Addons->Feeds and Speeds?
Thanks for any advice or guidance. I’ve attached my file, if anyone’s curious. The piece I’m working on is ‘Back’ or ‘Model-Back.’
