Introduction - Viktor (Vuhased) - Cleanup of deprecated BIM properties

Hello everyone,

My name is Viktor, and I am interested in contributing to FreeCAD through GSoC 2026.

About Me
I am a student at the National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” (Kharkiv, Ukraine), specializing in Mechanical Engineering and Transport.

My Contribution
I identified a deprecated property CutDistance in the BIM module. It was non-functional but still created for every new Section Plane. I have removed the following redundant block from src/Mod/BIM/ArchSectionPlane.py:

“CutDistance”,
“SectionPlane”,

It’s great to see someone interested in BIM. However, the GSOC 2026 application period has ended. But there couldn’t be a better time to apply next year. However, GSOC is quite a long process and requires a suitable project. This project doesn’t seem very suitable. Of course, we take into account all the work you do during the application process.
