How to use FEA tools in FreeCAD 0.17

Now I use the FRee CAd 0.16version in windows7 32bit.

I could analysis the home-made FEA model by using Free CAD, however I don’t know how to print FEA data.

Maybe I must enter the command in command line of FreeCad by using the Python.

I would like to want the data as soon as possible.

Therefore I would like to transfer the data to MBDA(Multi Body Dynamics Analysis.

Please contact with me.

First start using 0.17

If you want multi body dynamics edit the inp file to what you need. this is possible in 0.17 during the proces…

  • use lateast stable Release 0.17 of FreeCAD
  • what FEA data (input data or results) would you like to print where (on screen or to pdf or on paper)
  • do not use “Pleas inform me” in your topic header. If all would do this we would only have Please inform topics around.

cheers bernd

Now My environment is described as follows,
windows7 32bits, FreeCad 0.17
My request is how to use the FEA function in this version.
If you have the information on it, please inform me.

Besides, if you have a tutorial of version 0.17, please sent me.
My E-mail address is described as follows,
Shinichi_Sakabe@usjc.co.jp

Many many thanks as always!

Hi Shinichi, you shouldn’t post your email adress here, as you are most likely invite spammers to use it. You can receive private messages instead.

A tutorial for the new Part Design workbench is in the wiki: Basic Part Design Tutorial 017.

I would say it is a help request…

moved to FEM …

https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/FEM_Module#Tutorials try to play with the examples from Start Workbench too. If you have any specific question ask at the forum.

Ahh once again, do not post your email adress. You will get notified if someone has returned to one of your topics.

If you have multiple questions you should consider opening more than one topic at once. There are people who scan only specific forums and a question might slip through unnoticed.

I use the FreeCad version .016 in windows7 32bits. I already learned how to use Cad function and solve the easy FEA.

Now I would like to know how to set the direction of Forces by using FreeCad.

The reason why in usually cases simply definition of Force direction are only two case, ie, normal direction on plane or inverse direction.

I would like to set any direction of Forces.

The best thing to do is how to get FEA input file.

Anyone help me as soon as possible.

First download 0.17 since the FEM workbench makes huge improvements!
Second start with the FEM examples on the wiki pages: https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=FEM_Module

My status is FreeCad 0.17 in Windows7 32bits.

Since then ,I could use 0.16version FEA function , it was easy procedure, however in new version 0.17 I could not making mesh data on it.

Please teach me where the manual of FEA procedure in 0.17 version.

Thanks

However i think this topic could be merged with you’re other topic…
this are the steps you have to do in 0.17

  1. create model
  2. add FEM analysis object
  3. activate analysis object
  4. select model and add mesh

check also https://freecadweb.org/wiki/FEM_CalculiX_Cantilever_3D and the other tutorials on the FEM wiki page.

please keep the forum rules in mind. We did tell them to you here already https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=28409 This topic is just a dublicate …

I merged the two topics.

+1 in the regard of use 0.17 version.

would you upload a simple example and make a line in the direction the force should go. We will show you how to apply a force in that direction in the gui.

Perhaps like here:

Now my status is described as follows,
OS:windows7 32bits,
Freecad 0.16 & FreeCad 0.17
And I am checking the many function of them.
In 0.16 version FreeCad I could solve the FEA,however in new version 0.17 I could not solve the same problem.
That is, input file was not written.
It was wrong to install the similler software FreeCad 0.16 anf 0.17, was not it?

Please help me

CalculiX[ccx] package is not having 32bit option for latest version packages, so you need to upgrade to 64bit to run FEA analysis.

Please stop creating new topics… This is about the 4th topic with basically the same question…
