Does CfdOF support setting up conjugate heat transfer?

Hi,

Does CfdOF support setting up conjugate heat transfer cases? If not, is there a plan to add this any time soon?

Thanks for the reply! But, that thread did not answer my question.
I understand that Openfoam is capable of conjugate heat transfer. But, I am looking to use CfdOF as an GUI to set up a case.

It’s not currently supported in CfdOF. You could do the initial setup in this GUI but then it would be necessary to edit the input files manually. You would have to change the solver to chtMultiRegionFoam and define proper boundary conditions for the solid and for the interface. Another option is to use preCICE and couple OpenFOAM with CalculiX. It would require even more effort but give you more possibilities for heat transfer in solids modeling.

Thanks!

I will explore using preCICE.

I assume that CfdOF does not support multiple bodies (solids and flow domains) and meshing yet, althought snappyHexMesh is capable of doing that.

Wondering if this feature will be developed in the future winin CfdOF.

I don’t see myself having time to add this in the near future unfortunately.
