Sounds like the video you followed led you astray in both the animation and cam model. You have used a linear variation in the follower vertical position with the cam when it is actually a cubic relationship:
It’s a real pleasure to talk with you. Many elements are foreign to me such as the choice of a snap with its function (Frenet NB and…), Map Mode or mathematical formulas without counting the language. I come from far away but I am eager to learn and know. So I continue despite the difficulties encountered and thank you again for your assistance.
Q1- The table with a graph proposed with the picture 2 is created in Excel?
Q2- You have created an Interferences directory, the doigt002 and Cylindre002 objects are generated by Part WB_Create Simple Copy. You then make an intersection of these 2 objects. Can you confirm your method for me?
I correct these elements and continue my discoveries with my 4 pencils exercice.
Yes. You can also find many free curve fitting apps on the internet. This empirical method can be used to ‘solve’ the assembly when a master sketch or combination of attachment modes cannot.
Assembly4 uses a universal joint LCS to connect body links. For anything other than a static joint, you need to describe the joint behavior (degrees of freedom) with LCS attachment modes, variables, and expressions. And, you can only attach a body to one joint because Assembly4 does not have an assembly solver. Many times a skeleton or master sketch can be used to solve the motion of an assembly by attaching the LCS connectors to the sketch which has a robust solver. The empirical method is an alternative to the master sketch or for those instances where the sketch solver cannot be used.
This is a relatively new feature of Assembly4. The tool is found between Hide LCS and Configuration Panel buttons in the Assembly4 toolbar. Experiment with it. The way you describe it seems to be the way it functions.

The ASM4_checkInterference button is easy to use. We launch the check by clicking on the Check Interferences button. We see the progress of the analysis with a bar graph. In the event of interference, an Interferences folder is automatically generated within the document and in the 3D view the objects in contact by transparency. Otherwise, a scan report indicates that the file is clean.
Simple and practical.
The best thing would be to propose a corrective solution.

I can make your presentations on the 4 pencils https://devtalk.freecad.org/t/use-of-an-assembly4-time-variable-for-mechanism-design-and-assembly-final-comments-re-assembly-constraints/71819/1 without having to look at your attached files. They are there in case of assistance. It’s really great as a discovery and initiation to ASM4. This is a great job on your part and I am very grateful. For my part, I am happy to have opted for ASM4. It’s powerful and the possibilities offered are immense.
Despite everything, I haven’t forgot my differential, but I prefer to progress in my knowledge of ASM4.
How to proceed to make 2 similar objects independent?
EXAMPLE with the right and left satellites, one which turns to the right and the other to the left. For the moment it’s a salad of teeth.
Thanks
Please see the attached file if I understand your question correctly. Just add another reference point and change the LCS’s to point to the new point. Multiply the map parameter by -1 to reverse direction.
Good morning,
I am assembling the simplified crane. I have 3 subsets working individually and saved in their own file.
They are now in a single file.
My problem is: how to precisely position the arm with the movable base. The LCS of the mobile base are not offered in the attachment window. I played with X,Y Translation but it is not precise.
I notice that there are some shifts.
The rest will be to call the different variables
ppemawm I also just noticed that there is a big problem with ASM4_Apiquage !!!. Don’t waste time looking, I will soon offer you another version which I hope will be more functional.
Cordially
You can import any of the body level LCS’s into the sub or top assemblies with the Import Datum Object next to the LCS icon in the Assembly4 toolbar. Select the LCS that you want in the body link first. It will be visible at the parent assembly level. Then attach the Appiguage to the imported LCS of the Base. Now if you rotate the base, everything rotates in the top assembly:

’
I also notice some slight misalignments at the pivot points. This is due to different dimensions in the bodies compared to the master sketch. Use carbon copy sketches, binders, or variables to keep them exactly the same.
This crane is a very good exercise to familiarize yourself with the many functions of ASM4
I revised my copy in order to make everything homogeneous between the objects. I replaced the file ASM4_Grue_Apiquage. I haven’t changed the link.
I will try to understand your approach to the time sequence.
"Element count " is a property of Links objects.
Have a look at property panel about Links objects in your ASM4 parts then increase the count value to 1 up to 2 or more.
Then play with placement of each sub instance
Yes. Select the body link in the TREE or triple select it in the GUI and then ctrl select the axis. The icon should light up so you can select it next. Then you can change the element count and the relative distance, Linear Step. If you change the array placement or the original body link attachment offset, the whole array will move. They always behave as a group.
If you want to be able move each separately using their individual placement properties then use the Element Count of the body link itself rather than an array.
Thanks to you, I just discovered this new feature. I clicked on Body_Orange then in the Data window I set the line Element Count = 2.

The positioning is different in the tree. After I have Body_015_i0 and Body_015_i1.

It’s correct?
In which case should we favor this function rather than clicking twice to have 2 links of the same piece?
I had to mix up the pencils while adding the variables, some objects move but not all.
Base Pivotante: OK Arm extension: NOK Clamp opening: OK
Crane rotation: NOK Lifting Arm: NOK Clamp rotation: OK!!
Can you tell me how to correct my problem?
I updated my files. How do we rename files without breaking the variables (ex: ASM4-----v2.FcStd?)
Thank you once again for giving me your time
